SI launches Virtual Wholesale Store service
January 2010 sees the launch of a brand new service from Schoolwear International, the company that leads the class in the supply of British school uniform and sportswear to International Schools abroad.
The new service, the Virtual Wholesale Store, is an extension of the company’s existing technology, its Virtual School Shop which is an online shopping service for mums of pupils at the company’s international school customers around the world.
The Virtual Wholesale Store is, as its name suggests, a virtual store for schools which operate their own school shop. From this new service, school shop managers can order online any stock they need for their school shop from the specific range they use.
One of the benefits of this new service – aside from the speed of the communication – is that the opportunity for error is so much smaller; the on-line system creates all the paperwork from the order to picking notes, dispatch notes and invoices and so transcription errors arising from orders received, most commonly in the past by e-mail, just fade away
‘Customers who are using the system are already finding it very easy to use and we are getting comments to the effect that it is so much more convenient to have the whole school uniform and sportswear range presented on screen to help make sure nothing needed is missed from the order’ comments Schoolwear International director Jerry Smith. ‘The system also produces all the confirmatory paperwork so that record keeping for the school is as easy as it possibly can be.’
‘Subject to a modest minimum order value, the system encourages customers to place smaller orders more often which means better stock management and, overall, really substantial and valuable savings on purchases. It really is a good – and very sensible – development of our existing technology’ adds Smith.
The Virtual Wholesale Store is a service available to any International School which operates its own school shop and provides a truly modern and very convenient ‘one stop shop’ for school shop managers.
